Who is eligible customer?

Eligible customer is an end user of electricity that is entitled to buy electricity at his own choice, having filled in terms and conditions and criteria prescribed by provisions of the Rule for getting a status of eligible customer (hereinafter: Rule).

 

Possibility to get a status of eligible customer

Pursuant to provisions of the Rule, end users have a possibility for the eligible customer status following the timetable as follows:

  • customers with the annual consumption of electricity of more than 10 GWh as of January 2007;
  • all customers, apart from those from the category of households, as of January 2008;
  • all customers of electricity as of January 2015.

 

Who may get a status of eligible customer in 2007?

All end users which annual consumption exceeds 10 GWh (big customers) may, after adoption of the Rule, submit an application to the Regulatory Commission for Energy of Republic of Srpska (RERS) for getting a status of eligible customer that provides them with a possibility to choose the supplier as of 1 January 2007 pursuant to the terms and conditions prescribed by the Rule.

 

Who are suppliers of eligible customers in Bosnia and Herzegovina?

Supplier of eligible customers is the licensee for trade and supply of electricity on the territory of BiH issued by RERS, i.e. licensee for supply of the Tier II issued by the Regulatory Commission for electricity in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FERC).

So far, there have been the following licensees:

  • "Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske" (Power utility of Republic of Srpska), joint stock company Trebinje, head office and address: Trebinje, Stepe Stepanovica b.b. street, license for trade and supply on the territory of BiH;
  • Service and trade company "Energy Financing Team", d.o.o. (ltd.) Trebinje, head office and address: Trebinje , Tini b.b., license for trade and supply on the territory of BiH;
  • Public company "Elektroprivreda Hrvatske zajednice Herceg-Bosne", joint stock company Mostar, head office and address: Mostar, Zagrebacka 1, license for delivery and supply Tier II;
  • Public company Elektroprivreda Bosne i Hercegovine, d.d. Sarajevo (joint-stock company), head office and address: Sarajevo, Vilsonovo setaliste 15, license for delivery and supply Tier II;
  • Alumina plant "Birac" AD Zvornik, head office and address: Zvornik, Karakaj b.b., license for trade and supply on the territory of BiH;
  • "EZPADA" d.o.o. Capljina, head office and address: Capljina, Ante Starcevica 5, license for international trade of electricity.
